So since my last post a lot has happened! I made the decision that I was definitely going to start my own business (yey) and I have gone with wedding planning as after a few weeks of thinking about it I was still keen to follow that venture. So I can introduce my new business.....Ardor Weddings! Ardor meaning: great enthusiasm and passion.
I have created my social media pages (Facebook and Instragram) and I have bought my domain www.ardorweddings.co.uk but I am yet to build my website (lacking skills in the web development and design area.) I have started creating visuals (as above) and I will continue to do this where I will include the pink roses bouquet as a consistent visual throughout my work. I will use visuals like this on my social media sites and website too but also I would like to use them throughout any paper stationary that I hand out to clients. As part of my business research I created a survey which I posted on social media and asked people to complete if they are recently engaged or married. The response on this was great and up to now I have 24 responses so it is a great insight into the wedding planning business and what clients expect. One of my questions was 'explain why you did not choose to use a wedding planner' and one of the responses was 'There’s just no one in my area that I knew about. Wish I had one as finding it very stressful to even look at things' I was quite surprised to see this response and the participant had entered their email so I took it upon myself to get in touch with them and start up a conversation regarding her wedding planning experience. Myself and this participant have now entered into a email conversation where we have agreed I will help her out through her wedding journey as this will be great experience as my first new business venture. So there we are, pretty much brings me to today where I decided it was time for a new desk so I have a base to work from.....

Have you ever had a time in your life where you feel like you're walking a path that you didn't build or lead.....I recently had that point in my life and instead of sitting back and wasting any more time I decided to make the change. Because unless you make it happen it won't happen on it's own. My moto 'Don't count the days, make the days count' is finally becoming a reality for me. I believe the most important thing in life is happiness and you have to be able to make your own happiness, yes surround yourself with people who make you happy but never feed off theirs. Having contentment and strength in your life is an uplifting feeling. So what's changed? Well a hell of a lot! I have just left a 6 years committed relationship, I have moved house and I have quit my job. 'She must be mad' I hear you say......and yes I probably do have a screw loose somewhere but I have never felt more in control in my life. Having this fresh start in all elements of my life has allowed me to see what I am made of and I like what I see (we should all love ourselves) I feel ready to take on my next adventure and challenges and I couldn't be more excited.....
Today was the first day in my new life and I spent the morning at a Lead Generation, SEO & Digital Marketing Seminar and it's propelled me into wanting to start my own business. With a background of marketing & graphic design surely you'd have thought that is where my passion would lie but actually after much thought and research my passion lies in events....having a want for things to be organised and well executed leads itself well to this field of work. So for the next week or so I am going to spend all my spare time looking into what it is particularly that I want to immerse myself in, being able to sell myself as an organiser will sell itself well to wedding planning because for many people planning a wedding can be such a stressful time when ultimately it's supposed to be the happiest day of your life so I feel I could do this industry justice (and I already have my graphic design on hand for all things looking pretty!) Just the last 4 hours since this seminar I have felt so excited to get behind my laptop and get cracking and it has lead me to want to speak to anyone else who is either starting their own business or has done and is now loving their professional working life, so if you are one of these people please get in touch as I would love to chat to you! Message me on Facebook or email me at kelly.beazer@gmail.com Have a great day - Kelly Aside from my love for design and marketing I also love to dance and perform. I have recently been involved in some amateur dramatics thanks to my other half and his family friends. We have done some great plays, I played the leading role in our Alice in Wonderland and I was able to share a great adventure with them recently telling/performing some great tales and mysteries from the East Yorkshire area which surfaced a very long time ago (1450 onwards)! They are such a great group of people and every now and then we go away on holiday together. Our regular holiday is to Robin Hood's Bay in April, not far away (yey) It falls very nicely near my birthday too!
Last year we went away to Appleton Le Moors, a small village in North Yorkshire and we stayed in an amazing converted barn that really was swish! With a quaint little village pub that served a delicious gin (oh I am also obsessed with gin!) Anyway on this holiday we took a lovely walk to Hutton-Le-Hole another gorgeous village just 3 miles up the road. It was a very muddy day, safe to say I didn't have the right footwear on for that walk, I am pretty sure the shoes in question are still in a bag somewhere covered in mud, I just can't bring myself to try and salvage them. This is going somewhere I promise, on our holidays I always have my Nikon D3100 with me because the views are always magnificent and I like to capture our adventure. It's the only time I feel really connected to my camera and like I am using it to it's best potential. Although I am rubbish at doing anything with said photos when I return home. Saying that here are some for your viewing pleasure :) |
